With the Winter Solstice arriving, I was reminded of the people who passed through my career and saw something in, challenged, or encouraged me. Looking back now, I see how their presence influences my continuing growth and the lens I view people and collaborations through.
My deepest gratitude to:
Holt Anderson, who taught us how to build collaborative relationships with a safe space and cheap coffee.
John Copenhaver, whose vision to expand female representation in business continuity weaved together women I still admire today.
Janis Curtis, Karen Davis, Gail Hinte, Trish Markus, Mary-Jo Nimmo, who demonstrate cool-headed strategic leadership, most of the time. ;)
Clyde Hewitt, who always has my back.
Dolores Huerta, who taught me that worker rights aren't just in the fields but in today's digital plantations, as well.
Marcie Roth, who with Judy Heumann, built the framework to include disability advocates into leadership positions.
Chauncia Willis, whose laser focus to improve representation benefits all of us.
In Memoriam
Chris Apgar, whose gentle hand corralled disparate people with competing agendas to work together to build the EDI frameworks we use today.
Jeff Baker, who pushed me beyond my limited self-perception.
Mike H. Hubbard, the smartest damn lawyer who argued policy vs. technology conflicts with me until we ran out of bourbon.
